• MCE (for Mixed Cellulose Ester), a biologically inert mixture of cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate; autoclavable (121 °C), mechanically stable and temperature resistant up to 130°,
• Hydrophilic and suitable for aqueous solutions (pH 4 - 8),
• High loading capacity (high retention level),
• Excellent flow rates and highest throughput results for a membrane owing to the uniform microporous structure
• Plain membranes are ideal for pre-filtration, clarification of samples while gridded MCE membranes can be used for microbiological analysis, colony counting,…

• CN for Cellulose Nitrate (also named nitrocellulose),
• Hydrophilic membrane with very high flow rates,
• High, non-specific adsorption. Biomolecules adsorb strongly on nitrocellulose; micro-organisms (yeasts, moulds...) are therefore very well retained on this membrane surface, allowing cultivation and colony counting, sterile filtration,…
• Autoclavable (121 °C), suitable for aqueous solutions (pH 4-8), hydrocarbons and temperature resistant up to 130°C,
